Dynamic Instructional Design model
What do you think about the Dynamic Instructional Design model?
I believe the DID model is very useful for new teachers at the Colombo as it provides some clear guidelines about the learner, the objectives, the learning environment and the learning strategies. Those items are integral to our institution and can be summarized with one phrase: "Teaching English with the communicative approach". Most items in the DID model are given by the institution and not by the individual teacher. Therefore I think this model is great for learning about the institution but limited for individual lesson planning.
Do you agree with the steps?
I agree with the steps.
Would it be useful to you when you plan for your classes?
I have my classes planned and add step by step new activities which fit into my teaching philosophy as well as into the philosophy of my institution. There is no need to rethink dramatically my philosophy there is only the need of constant improvement of the things which I already do well. The DID gives the impression that I need to rethink my lesson plans completely before every single new class. I think this approach is neither beneficial towards improvement of my classes nor practical.
